Oscar Azmitia was born in Manhattan in 1978, and was raised in Brooklyn and Ridgewood, New York and Puerto Rico.   Azmitia began attending Pure Vision Arts in 2006.  At that time he was drawing intricately detailed story boards based on an imaginary character named Anthony O.  Encouraged to paint on canvas he has subsequently created numerous meticulous works, many influenced by biblical epics.   In addition to his interest in the bible, he also enjoys painting portraits on coins and scenes on vinyl albums. In his time in the PVA studio his work has continued to develop, and he has garnered an enthusiastic following.  His work is included in numerous private collections.
