Collection: ECF Art Centers
The Exceptional Children’s Foundation (ECF) was created in 1946 by a group of concerned parents who pooled their resources to create a daycare program for children with developmental disabilities. Over 78 years, ECF has evolved into a nationally recognized organization serving nearly 4,000 people with developmental disabilities and their families annually from 14 program sites, in homes and in the community across Los Angeles County. ECF is the only organization of its kind in California to provide a lifespan of services for children and adults challenged with developmental, learning and emotional barriers—empowering them to reach their greatest potential.
About ECF Art Centers: ECF Art Centers is an adult program of the Exceptional Children’s Foundation (ECF), providing adults with developmental disabilities a place to explore their creativity and freedom of expression. At ECF’s four art studios located across Los Angeles County, artists are encouraged to communicate their personal and creative vision. Talented instructors provide artists with guidance in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, printmaking, digital art, and ceramics. ECF Art Centers partner with established local and national galleries, museums, and other community organizations to connect artists to the greater art community. Since 1968 ECF’s approach to mentorship and professional development in the arts has been the catalyst for hundreds of artists to achieve their personal and professional goals.
Through the ECF Art Centers, artists’ work is sold online and in studios, with artists receiving a 50% commission from all sales.
