Garvin was born in Trinidad and Tobago. A self-taught artist who works primarily in the mediums of pen and ink, pencil, and acrylic and watercolor painting, he favors nature subjects. Images of birds appear frequently in his pieces; he finds peacocks and parakeets particularly beautiful. Says Garvin, “I have found that experimentation leads to inspiration.”
